Latest pics of VC11184 OSS undergoing outfitting at HSL The missile-tracking Ocean Surveillance Ship (OSS) is set for sea-trials in 2018 to support India’s classified strategic weapon and Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) programmes. The OSS is fitted with a primary X-Band AESA radar (towards the middle) and secondary S-Band AESA radar (on the bow) to monitor missile systems. Besides gathering electronic intelligence, the ship is expected to support the second phase of the locally designed multitiered BMD shield.
